Software Development Manager - Perm - West Lothian - Circa £65k

Abrecco has been engaged by our global, market leading client to seek out a talented Software Development Manager to be based from their office in West Lothian. You will be leading globally distributed teams of developers and you will be required to travel to various locations as part of this role.
You will have likely come a application or web development background and maintained a keen interest in technology, especially how to apply leading / bleeding edge technologies in business to retain competitive market edge. This is a high level Management role requiring excellent people management skills and a proven track record of managing teams of developers in a number of global locations to promote and maintain a close knit, collaborative working environment and the successful delivery of software projects.

Role responsibilities:
- Lead, manage and mentor geographically dispersed teams in the successful delivery of solutions
- Effectively collaborate with other development managers, Architects, Project leaders and the business
- Define, develop and implement strategy to effectively deliver project and BAU work streams
- Lead in the development of solution architecture and high level designs
- Monitor and manage the progress of projects through the full software development lifecycle

Personal and technical attributes:
- Proven track record in software development management in globally dispersed environments
- Excellent management skills and mentoring abilities
- A genuine interest in the latest and emerging technologies (Cloud platforms, Open source tools etc)
- Experience of working in Agile, waterfall and Development environment
- Knowledge and experience of the full software development lifecycle
- Experience of working within an ITIL environment
- Knowledge of enterprise Microsoft and open source technologies. (.NET, Python, PHP or similar)
- Ideally you will also still have the ability to be technically hands on if required
