Senior DevOps Engineer - AWS / Windows or Linux / Automation - Glasgow - Salary DOE

A brand new opportunity has popped up for a DevOps Engineer from ideally a Windows background, but Linux would be fine, to work within a close knit development team on a number of cloud-based infrastructure solutions for an organisation who provide cloud and other key software services to a global client base. As a key senior figure, you’ll be administering large scale systems, identifying areas for improvement, and be a driving force for ongoing automation. So if this sounds like the role you can see yourself excelling in, apply now before someone else snaps it up!

Abrecco’s Glasgow based client is working with a growing number of organisations around the world, providing well-needed, predominantly cloud-focussed, infrastructure solutions. They’re now on the lookout for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join the team and be well rewarded as they utilise their extensive experience across cloud based systems, automation and scripting to contribute to the planning, integration and management of vital large scale systems.

So if this sounds good so far, have a read of the following for a better insight!

What you’ll be doing;
- Taking ownership of cloud-based infrastructure solutions across all stages from planning to support
- Advising the wider IT team and working closely with developers to deploy and manage large scale environments
- Developing tools and scripts, and automating processes where possible
- Providing occasional out of hours support where needed

What you will bring;
- Extensive experience administering Windows or Linux servers
- Skills across automation tools such as Chef / Puppet / Ansible / CFEngine or Salt
- Solid knowledge of cloud technologies, ideally AWS certified (AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate/Professional)
- Scripting experience with Python or Powershell
- Degree in Computer Science or similar
- Experience with open source and version control tools such as Nagio/Check_MK and GIT
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team and autonomously
