Senior PHP Software Developer - Glasgow - Perm - DOE
Are you a problem solver with a love of technology? Our client is and they have a fantastic opportunity for a technically focussed Senior PHP Developer to add value to a modern, formidable and dynamic team environment in a business that leads the way in a fast moving industry. You will work with a variety of high profile B2B brands supporting client projects and focussing on back end development whilst working across a highly successful team of other developers, strategists and designers. You will have a proven passion for technology and experience in open source solutions, a growth mind-set, team player focus and a consultative approach whilst being a natural problem solver with very good communication skills and rationale.

Role Responsibilities:
- You will work alongside the client services team to identify client requirements and plan projects.
- You will be familiar with the full software lifecycle and be comfortable taking ownership of and working independently on a project.
- Suggest and implement enhancements to existing products or solutions
- Actively participate in team discussions in a communicative Agile environment
- Help to develop and deliver robust and reliable solutions

Technical Attributes
- Extensive experience in modern, well-tested object-oriented PHP development.
- Laravel or a similar PHP MVC framework (i.e. Symfony 2, Zend).
- Design patterns and SOLID design principles.
- Git and Git workflows
- Test driven development using PHPUnit or similar.
- Some front-end experience (HTML5 / CSS / jQuery) - enough to build working prototypes
- Good UNIX fundamentals: Apache/OpenSSL/Package management
- REST API design / microservices architectures.
- Managing servers in an AWS environment
- Experience with any of the following: Node/MongoDB/Redis
- Experience with Enterprise systems e.g. Salesforce/Eloqua
- DevOps experience would be advantageous, particularly the use of Jenkins for continuous integration and Capistrano or similar for deployment.
