Software Engineer - Object Oriented/SOLID - Perm - Edinburgh - Salary DOE

For all you budding techies out there, we have a couple of opportunities to work in a fairly relaxed and collaborative environment on software that controls the manufacture of cutting edge technology solutions. If you have a good grounding in OO development and want to gain proper full lifecycle delivery experience, this may be the role for you!

Abrecco’s Edinburgh based client is looking for two Software Engineers with object oriented development skills and ideally experience working with Matlab to join their growing team as they continue to develop and enhance solutions used across the globe. These are great opportunities for junior or graduate engineers with an interest in programming and engineering to gain full lifecycle experience of working in an R-D environment. This truly is an end to end role where you will be involved in design, coding, debugging, test and deployment, as well as working with customers directly and even travelling to customer sites to update or deploy offline solutions. So if this sounds like the kind of opportunity you can see yourself thriving in, get in touch with Chris or apply now before they are snapped up!

What you’ll be doing:
- Designing, coding, testing and maintaining software for key systems using Smalltalk, VisualWorks, C++, Matlab and .NET
- Working across the full lifecycle from gathering requirements and writing specs to debugging, installation and maintenance
- Operating as part of a collaborative development team
- Programming hardware interfacing modules
- Occasional travel to customer sites (global)

What you’ll bring:
- Strong knowledge of Object oriented programming (C, C++ and Java)
- Computer hardware knowledge
- Basic understanding of networking principles would be beneficial
- Excellent communication skills and team working abilities
- Degree educated in Computer Science or other relevant subject

With so many technical skills to discuss, it’s best if you apply now with your CV and we can have a chat to discuss how well this vacancy matches your skills and how this will help drive your career aspirations.
